I have been working at University of Miami - Miller School of Medicine full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great colleagues and very interesting work.

    Cons

Lack of overall institutional vision and stagnant wages.

In the last 5 years, there has been significant restructuring and changes in senior leadership. This has lead to shifting priorities and a guessing game to see who is leaving next.

I have been working at University of Miami - Miller School of Medicine full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The staff members are great and you would build good friendships. It can be a hit or miss with management as far as who is nice and who will APPEAR to be nice. The insurance is alright compared to other places. A lot of the patient's are really nice and you build a bit of a relationship with the frequent ones who come around.

    Cons

Pay could definitely be better and we hardly get a raise. When we do actually get a raise it is only a few cents. The company gets so many donation etc and the employees don't really get to see it. Overworked a lot of the times doing multiple jobs. They say you can advance and move up in the company but it is just as hard as if you weren't even an employee to begin with. Lately ton of people have left in the past year and a half from all departments which means something not right to me. Lately management has been getting so strict that you can't even have friends or casual conversation once and a while. It's almost as if you just have to go to work and leave like a robot. The work environment used to be fun but now it's gone downhill and just continuing to decline.

Treat employees as you would like to be treated. Shw more understanding and compassion towards your employees. Racist, anti-gay and extremely judgemental.
