I worked at University of Miami full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Teaching assistants received good pay, colleagues were supportive, and class sizes were small and manageable.

    Cons

Teacher training was primarily theory-based; more practical advice and hands-on experience would have been useful for first-time instructors.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

I have been working at University of Miami part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Beautiful campus. Most facilities are world-class.

    Cons

People are not very friendly. If you don't speak Spanish you'll be a foreigner

    Advice to Management

UM only cares about money. They treat their personnel very badly. If they need you to pay money they will want their cash ASAP if they need to give you money oh you can wait 2 weeks or 2 months... very unprofessional and unhuman practices from a university that claims itself to be one of the top 50 in the country. The best Universities in this country did not become that by focusing ONLY on getting money. There are other issues that are at least as important if not more important.

I have been working at University of Miami full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Amazing benefits and people. They have come full circle into a stable but dynamic enterprise. Also it remains a good place to grow.

    Cons

Salaries are capped to basic duties. Basic duties are mutable. There is really nothing negative to state about the U.
