I have been working at University of Nebraska part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get to talk to clients and improve the lives of animals. You get to experience all types of animals and people. I get to communicate with people who love animals as much as I do.

    Cons

The clients are sometimes rude which can be hard to manage. It is difficult to communicate with clients that cannot pay for their animal's care.

    Advice to Management

Advice would be to listen to employees on how to improve a vet clinic. Another bit of advice would be to stay modern in technology and new animal welfare procedures.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at University of Nebraska full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

UNL is a great place to work. Every office has it's own culture. Be sure to interview the people who are interviewing you. Ask questions about their specific culture and how they handle things in their department. Most of the time it's a family focused place that affords people flexibility.

    Cons

Depending on your department, it can be frustrating to work through the system. So many levels to go through to accomplish somewhat simple tasks at times. Make friends and use your connections to your advantage.

    Advice to Management

Don't promote based on seniority, promote based on talent and work ethic.
