I worked at University of New Haven part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly staff, great learning opportunities, a lot of interaction with the student population/campus community, great direction by boss/supervisor, ability to choose hours and shifts based on personal schedule (only for certain positions)

    Cons

Some positions do not have flexible hours, not a lot of bursar positions, pay could be better, difficult to find coverage if needed

    Advice to Management

The school advertises a plethora of bursar positions but that is not the case. Many jobs are work study only and the bursar positions are not advertised. Maybe make the positions more accessible for students.

    Pros

Some of the majors and staff are great!

    Cons

Upper management has become uncaring, greedy and created a toxic work environment. The fear permeating the offices and the lack of work/life balance makes it for a very stressful work environment.

    Advice to Management

Think of your employees as human beings with families and a life that can even be a benefit to the office. Happy employees are better workers.
