Former Employee - Research Assistant in Chapel Hill, NC

    Pros

I learned a lot on the job but it was a job meant for recent college graduates looking for a gap year before graduate school and the pay is structured that way. Great if you want patient interaction for a medical school application.

    Cons

The funding is terrible and I never got a raise or even a mention of a raise. It felt awful to work hard and not be compensated for my bachelor's degree and my high quality work. Working harder wouldn't mean a raise or promotion. No room for advancement. You do it for the experience, certainly not the money.

    Pros

Great place to work, great people to work with

    Cons

The only disadvantage to working here was that is was grant-funded and grant money is more difficult to come by.

    Advice to Management

Try to make sure you have consistent funding before hiring new people and then letting them go 13 months later,

    Cons

There weren't really any "cons" to my experience.

The athletic scandal is a disgrace and an embarrassment to your employees. Do something about it.

    Pros

Co workers are friendly and helpful. Without them I would still not be here. I had ample training to learn Epic.

    Cons

Short staffed so much so I can't get my daily responsibilities completed. So many responsibilities that most clinical staff do not have.

    Advice to Management

Hire more clinical staff and pay better
