I have been working at University of Phoenix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The campus is very newly remodeled and there is a lot of opportunity for education and life long learning skills. The on boarding process is amazing and they welcome everyone with open arms.

    Cons

The organization as a whole is going through many changes, and it's difficult to feel safe in the position because of the annual layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Management does a great job, they can do better with communication change to employees

    Pros

Freedom to work my own hours. Opportunity to use my knowledge to assist students. Flexibility in choice of classes. It has a good reputation

    Cons

Very few scheduled breaks from teaching. Some students should be pre-screened out and not admitted.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay for online instructors. Provide at least some benefits.

    Pros

free college, flex hours, relaxed atmosphere, good raises

    Cons

you have to work in a room full of people in cubicles

    Advice to Management

great job, all information is available, I'm just trying to find out about other positions in other states, so I guess if that could be easier to find then that is my only advice. The social atmosphere at the University of Phoenix is really unprofessional other than that it's a great place to work.

    Pros

Flexibility in teaching in an asynchronous environment, good mentorship program. Materials already prepared for instructors.

    Cons

A lot of work for what is relatively little pay for the undergrad classes. Grad classes are better.

    Advice to Management

Continue to treat instructors well and you'll get a lot out of us.

    Pros

--Online teaching is a great way to help others and the time commitment is flexible to an extent. It is a great way to make some extra income and get a great sense of reward from helping others.

    Cons

-Opportunities for advancement do not seem to be available and too often the only positions posted are IT or for entry level recruiters.

    Advice to Management

Identify top performing faculty and recruit them for larger roles in the organization. With their experience, they can bring a lot of value to future growth and meeting organizational objectives.

    Pros

There are many pros to working at University of Phoenix! Some of these include their benefits package, extensive training, many opportunities for career advancement, and brand recognition.

    Cons

There are not many cons. It is a high growth company, so there are many changes happening, so you have to be adaptable. There is some pressure in enrollment, but goals are attainable if you can sell.

    Advice to Management

Try to give more notice on some of the changes before they take effect. Do a better job on communicating the "why" behind some of the changes.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

They are an honest company, and I feel proud to work for them. I would recommend this position to any one.

    Cons

The pay could be higher, but the stress level is very manageable and the ability to grow in the company is great.

    Advice to Management

The company is growing and it would be great to be able to break into smaller teams. Sometimes there is not enough management per employee.

    Pros

Positive work enviroment, pleanty of support from co-workers on up. All most all upper management started as enrollment advisor, therefore they have a tremendous understanding of my position plus I think it benefits our students in the type of service they receive.

    Cons

Can't really come up with one and I have been with the University more than 5 yrs.

    Advice to Management

Don't ever change your willingness to help, your support is awesome!
