I worked at University of Southampton (Less than a year)

    Pros

They provide training in most current sales methods that is used by today's tech companies. From day one, Launchsource builds a relationship to be able to prepare and place you with a company that you can succeed with. They place an emphasis on matching company culture to ensure you start your career with an opportunity that will fit you. I've found the management to be approachable and the CEO to be personal and look out for the employee's best interests.

    Cons

I have not had negative experiences since starting at LaunchSource.

I worked at University of Southampton part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Enjoyable as it involved showing prospective students round the University and also helping primary school children in educational workshops. Many transferrable skills

    Cons

Work was flexible so there weren't many cons. Perhaps a slight downside was that if you didn't work for a couple of months you were taken off the database and had to re-register

    Advice to Management

Nothing much really but perhaps that they should advertise the role more widely so that more people have access to it and they can find better candidates. Overall thoroughly enjoyed it though

    Pros

Very flexible working hours for a student , get to work with lots of new people. Work usually involves showing students around and telling them about facilities and student life.

    Cons

The job is given on rolling basis, so you should be able to answer your emails quickly.

I have been working at University of Southampton full-time

    Pros

Great people, Flexible managers, friendly atmosphere. city is great, and students make it enjoyable

    Cons

Very few, the only issues could be the diversity of the university making it difficult to know all research currently underway.

    Advice to Management

In addition to monthly seminars and lab meetings, researchers (and teams) should be required to keep their profile and current work updated.
