    Very diverse, stimulating environment and workforce.

    Location (if you don't like LA)
    Cost of living
    Neighborhood around campus isn't most attractive
    (Relative) lack of public transit, though light rail line and multiple bus lines pass right by campus.

    Advice to Management

    Ensure good communication with lower level staff.
    Balance attention to activities that improve rankings with activities that may not move the rankings needs but that generate real improvement.

    There's usually no over time unless you're explicitly asked to.

    Cons

    Parking is a problem. Student workers don't get compensated for parking and it can get quite expensive.

    Ability to follow your passion and study in the field in which you want to grow and at the same time work as a graduate (Ph.D.) research/teaching assistant that not only covers your tuition but also covers your student life expenses.

    Cons

    For Ph.D. students, the salary (compared to other industrial opportunities they all have) is too low!
