I worked at University of Tampa full-time

    Pros

Covers housing costs Provides a stipen Provides a single

    Cons

Late nights Negatively affects social life

    Advice to Management

Tighten up! The residence life program is run very poorly. On top of that, it wouldn’t hurt for the RAs to be appreciated and or listened to by the top people

I worked at University of Tampa full-time

    Pros

Colleagues who are smart and willing to work collaboratively to get things done. New facilities - investment in new buildings and latest technology, equipment is high.

    Cons

Lack of collaboration between administration and faculty. Service-driven approach to higher-education: students are customers, faculty service providers.

    Advice to Management

Focus less on the veneer, on the appearance of excellence and more on substance, what you can do for faculty and students to enhance the quality of the education.

I have been working at University of Tampa full-time

    Pros

    - Benefits package is decent, great health benefits, dental and vision benefits are great, institution adds $100/month into your HSA account, RALLY rewards program is on point, ok on prescriptions - The people who work here who are great are truly fantastic people - The campus is gorgeous!

    Cons

    - Compensation is perhaps the worst of all private institutions in the state. Definitely worse than state institutions - Encourages maintenance of the status quo - not the place for innovation, creativity, and freedom to learn and grow. Prefers to hire and keep "yes people" - High turnover rate - many employees are dissatisfied and unfilfilled, but stay because they have families to feed, most other folks leave in...

I have been working at University of Tampa full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Downtown location, open air campus, publicity, progressive faculty, truly smart co-workers

    Cons

Leadership is a bunch of sheeple, staff conformity (not innovation) is rewarded, pay is stupidly below average (staff make the same or less than fresh grads...demoralizing)

    Advice to Management

Upgrade HR, they are as old school as the system they just transitioned from to Workday. Pay your staff 25% more than what they are being paid now; God knows there's plenty of money left over in revenue each year to afford a decent pay raise for the masses. Reward innovative staff!!! It makes no sense to be proud about putting up an Innovation & Collaboration Center when you poo-poo the ideas that staff come up with...
