I worked at University of Vermont part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really strong community. The Admissions counselors treated the student representatives with respect and not like children. I gained valuable communication skills. Even such a specific role in admissions there was room for advancement.

    Cons

The time frame is very specific which excludes a lot of students from applying and can limit employees class selection.

    Advice to Management

Change the CD playing in the Lobby every now and then.

It's a small research university, so for each research area, there may be only one faculty.

Please hire more tenure track faculties.

    Pros

Real life experience, Great experience to have under your belt before graduation. Get to work on cutting edge technology

    Cons

Some of the work seemed pointless and the hours were up to you to track and have people approve.

    Advice to Management

Maybe make work more relevant and hours easier to track, rather then record online and in paper just move to an online system.
