I have been working at University of Waterloo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Doing a PostDoc at University of Waterloo is generally good. It is a nice university with good academic environment for people who want to pursue a career in Academia. Small, quite city with everything you need.

    Cons

A bit too boring from time to time. You got to find something interesting to do besides your daily lab work. Don't work too hard and let the research consume your life.

    Advice to Management

There is not much to say about management. It's more or less all about you managing yourself at this level of studying and exploring the subject you are in. Again, pay attention to time management.

    Pros

Opportunities to gain experience lecturing and it certainly beats working minimum wage while attending school

    Cons

Sessionals and TAs are not unionised as they are in some universities. Variation in salary depending on department.

    Advice to Management

    Consistent payment for all sessionals
