I worked at University of West Georgia full-time

    Pros

Genuine desire to help students succeed, nice campus

    Cons

Leadership talks a good game about the "best place to work learn and succeed" but it's all talk. Leadership is all style over substance and ethics are flexible at best. There is a huge disconnect between faculty and who the students are and what happens outside the classroom. It's a hot mess!

    Advice to Management

Put your money where your mouth is. Change is hard and makes people mad, and that's ok. Make decisions, be transparent and stop making decisions that look good but have no depth or substance behind them. White males aren't always the best fit for a job or a promotion.

It's on the UWG campus, so their is a short walk to your classes.

A student assistant can work a maximum of only 20 hours per week.

Most people in ITS are either apathetic or unwilling to learn new technologies.

Use imaging software that is easier to learn and works on the school's network.

Hire employees who are willing to learn new things.

    Pros

Beautiful campus, great working environment, surrounded by people trying to make positive differences for students that choose to attend.

    Cons

Keeping everyone focused on the main goal of doing what's right for students vs. what might be best for employees - were some selfish people.

    Advice to Management

Clearly define the Vision and how each individual department, division, etc. factors into that Vision. It's a great place with great people.
