    Pros

Small town with big amenities, direct supervisor is in total support of me, however the C-suite does not seem to support IT.

I worked at University of Wisconsin-Platteville full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Lots of flexibility and encouragement to learn about other job roles and cross-train. Decent support for professional development. Encouraged to get involved with campus-wide committees. Benefits were fine, excellent PTO. Strong team-based atmosphere in my division. This is an excellent campus to build experience and be able to move on to bigger and better things.

    Cons

Poor pay, no raises beyond the state-mandated 2% in a couple of years so income didn't keep up with inflation/CoL. Lots of budget issues across the university and UW system. Gossip is a huge issue across the university and in the department because there is no transparency from administrators. Very little in the way of a career ladder/promotion opportunities.

I have been working at University of Wisconsin-Platteville full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Friendly and relaxed collegial environment. Classes are small so it's easy to truly know the students as individuals.

    Cons

Being a state entity introduces quite a bit of bureaucracy but, on the whole, that's manageable.
