I have been working at University of the Pacific as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Gives you working experience, Paid housing, and Paid meal plan for students.

    Cons

Housing department tends to have miscommunications. It is quite disorganized. The staff is unprofessional, inexperienced, and rude. They tend to work more for their self-interest instead of for the students. The staff is extremely sensitive and tend to censor things. The management is mostly run by graduate students who are doing it for the free housing and tuition. There are many other minor issues.

    Advice to Management

Hire professionals to run the management, not some group of graduate students who only care about themselves and do not know how to act professionally or anything on that matter.

I worked at University of the Pacific full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They pay for your schooling and a living stipend. If you choose student insurance, they pay that too.

    Cons

Classes aren't always available but are still required within a certain time frame to graduate and/or remain a student.
Living stipend doesn't get you into the greatest part of Stockton alone (need to room with others and share cost or go to some of the less friendly parts of town)

I have been working at University of the Pacific part-time (Less than a year)

They are very attentive to their employees. They are always giving us training at all times.

    Cons

They could give us more hours.

I worked at University of the Pacific full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of the nicest college campuses I have ever seen...very scenic with lots of trees. People are great on campus and really buy into the school!

    Cons

The surrounding area of Stockton is a dreadful place to live, you have to be really careful in knowing where you want to live because you are never too far from a nasty area of town. It is a very patchy city.

    Advice to Management

None, my manager/supervisors were awesome and respected the reasons why I wanted to leave.

I worked at University of the Pacific as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Exceptional staff, everyone is very kind, and it is a great environment to get information. The staff truly show a personal care and concern for anyone who comes through the offices.

    Cons

Parking is a task, as it is at any college. Most jobs start in the morning, though, so it shouldn't be a problem if you show up on earlier or on time.

    Advice to Management

Management makes sure to go around and become acquainted with all the staff, which is much appreciated. Keep up the good work, and don't lose that exuberance.

    Pros

Nice and friendly staff. Very chill job.

    Cons

Finding someone to cover your shift was difficult

    Advice to Management

Have more communication to all chains of command

I have been working at University of the Pacific (More than a year)

    Pros

There's a great staff and support system in this office. I've enjoyed my past year here working as an assistant.

    Cons

At times you will be filing paperwork weeks at a time. Especially the beginning and end of each school year. Other than that it's very manageable.

    Advice to Management

Continue supporting staff and keep providing that environment that you want future staff to create please!
