    I have been working at University of the West Indies full-time

    I get to interact with a diverse cross-section of students and staff from all around the world. As a result I have to be knowledgeable, efficient and courteous so that all their expectations are surpassed.

    Cons

    The Pay is not very competitive.

    Has a very nice campus.

    Cons

    You are expected to start work prior to getting a contract, which then takes months to be prepared.

    Advice to Management

    The hiring process must be sorted out. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

    Pros

    Rewarding work. Opportunity to interact with a few inspiring intellectuals

    Cons

    Small pay. Inefficient admin staff especially in HR and Finance departments. Rigid, bureaucratic pay cycles. Senior academic staff that are not warm to new ideas. Part time staff have no access to school's library and other facilities.

    Advice to Management

    Come into the 21st century
