I have been working at Unosquare U.S. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a blast to work here, and there is little to no micromanagement taking place. You are hired for your skillset, and the managers trust you to get your job done. The development offices are in Mexico, so flying down for the company parties and events is always a blast. The Co-Founder and President, Mario Di Vece was one of the 4 developers when the company was started so he knows the ins and outs of everything.

    Cons

I cannot think of any cons, maybe too much tacos on the Mexico trips!

    Advice to Management

Keep it up, you guys rock.

    I worked at Unosquare U.S. full-time

    Pros

There are some nice co-workers here, sometimes there's free beer

    Cons

Management is very childish, the COO, Ignacio will make your life impossible if you do anything he considers "disloyal". There's no opportunity of growing, if your last name does not match with anyone from c-level, that pretty much takes any opportunity from you.

    Advice to Management

Please act like an adult and understand the needs of your employees, I think other c-levels like Mario would care about this

I have been working at Unosquare U.S. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Jobs opportunities. Unosquare does a great job getting really good clients. Health plan is great. If you don't care about manners savings found, and job security are great perks.

    Cons

There is not a career path. You should figure it out what are the metrics or be friend of your boss to create a career path.

There are weird things in the payment way that indicates no transparency. For instance 'sindicato' nobody knows (meeting, leads, location), saving found boarding members represent only bosses there is not a clear employee representation.

There is not transparency between salaries, without mention differences between gender salaries. Engineers with same knowledge level with different salary due opaque or un existence of career path.

There is not Human Resources department therefore all other irregularities are possible without complains.

There is not a real culture, there is an intent and "wanna be" culture adapt to what market is looking or expecting but it is not real. When you feel you are living the culture you've just learned that, it is your career path and the only apparently way to agree with your bosses and the only way to achieve your next step in your career.

Communication between leads and Unosquare CEO, office directors seems to be broken. One day a lead can tell you a thing and Unosquare can be announcing a total different direction. There is not transparency between the extra hours you work and the way you should report or ask for an extra payment.

There are not Engineer standards or processes to select new Engineers. They have a list of questions and after that every Engineer makes the interviews that can or can't reflect the Unosquare values.

    Advice to Management

Growing should not be painful, you should recognizes signals and avoid noises. Build a culture means improve people life's without fear to do the correct things. Real culture does not need to pay for marketing or surveys it will return to you as good as you gave it. In a country as México with amazing pool of opportunities you could be the Company who break barriers and lead the market to a responsible and compromise social job where your culture reflects and transform society without need of hidden practices of payments / pseudo culture / charity programs and convert to the Disruptive company in Mexico that transforms employees life and country life.
