    Pros

This is a very Large company, with many locations, travel is allowed and encouraged. They have a great benefit package.

    Cons

Upper management is cheap and out of touch. They care more to keep their jobs than to get the work done and to pay fairly.

    Advice to Management

    Pay your people fairly.

I have been working at Unum full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of opportunity for growth within the company, excellent benefits, flexible hours, some positions allow for work at home

    Cons

The amount of work that you have is difficult to complete in a reasonable amount of time resulting in some very long hours. The workplace can also cone across as very "cliquey".

I have been working at Unum full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This position offers good pay and a very generous amount of paid time off (4 weeks). This position also offers great experience to make vertical movement within the company.

    Cons

This department is a very terrible work environment that is VERY underpaid for the amount/level of work required. The amount of work expected to be completed at the quality that is required by federal and state regulations is simply not possible. This results in an extremely poor work morale.

    Advice to Management

Increase the wage of deserving leave specialists so there is some incentive to do such a hard job with better morale and quality.

I have been working at Unum full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They have a decent deductible for health insurance.

    Cons

Their life insurance is paid out of pocket and the prices are expensive even as an employee. Sr management is concerned with saving the company money for profit than paying valid claims. They make excises to delay payments. It doesn’matter what the diagnosis is. They only pay a few days at a time.

    Advice to Management

Have some compassion and pay claimants their benefits. If you were in such situation you wouldn’t appreciate your payment being delayed.

    Pros

The culture and benefits are awesome, probably one of the best companies I have ever worked for.
Always room for growth, which is nice

    Cons

No cons to the company itself, the job can get a little annoying especially when you have an angry person yelling at you about their benefits but it's just part of the job
