I have been working at Unum full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They do a superb job of making sure you have a work/life balance. There is incredible room for growth/advancement in the company. You will get back what you put into this job (and more). Although we are an insurance company we are really able to care for our customers and help them in their time of need. In that way it is very rewarding. Pros well outweigh the cons.

    Cons

It is corporate America so there are sometimes hoops to jump through that you may not have to deal with at a smaller company. This can make some changes an uphill battle.

    Pros

    Cons

Not really a con, but work is always at a fast pace and it's common to be pulled in multiple directions. As a worker you need to master prioritization and effective communication to excel.

I have been working at Unum full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I have never seen a company focus so heavily on their people both in their purpose, practice and dialogue. This company has truly made profound shifts across the last 5 years to be more customer oriented, develop talent from within and be transparent.

    Cons

I encourage the leadership team to consider other options instead of outsourcing. We also really need to make more meaningful progress in our IT efforts.
