    I worked at Unum full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Unum does take very good care of its employees benefits-wise, and invest a lot in skills and expertise training and development.

    Cons

    The slow decision making cycle is typical of an employer this size, and of the corporate world in general, but change of any kind is long fought and hard won.

    Pros

    Compensation is great but you have to work for it. The jobs allows for a flexible schedule.

    Cons

    Limited work life balance. Small office environment.

    Pros

    Great feeder organization. If you want to move to other places in the organization this is a great start for your career.

    Cons

    Working at a desk all day. If the cubicle environment is not your type of work-place, then this place is probably not for you.

    I have no advice to management. They are great and help you grow as an employee.

    Good training, ability to move around the company, organized work schedule (depends on team)

    Cons

    Not up to date technology. Still use only database and systems. Work really depends on how engaged your manager is with you.

    Great organization and great people. Good benefits and retirement. Desire to integrate new technologies

    Cons

    Bureaucratic! A big lumbering insurance company that typically promotes from within. Too risk averse.

    Increase outside hiring at the senior levels.

    Pros

    Management is really nice and accepting. They work with schedules and really let you get hands on with different tasks.

    Cons

    Job postings at most times already have candidates chosen before interview process even begins.
