I have been working at UpRight Law full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I got hired here almost three years ago to do sales for the company and after performing well there, I was moved to do data analytics and now manage a lot of UpRight Law's technology. It's really felt like a career here, and so far I don't see myself leaving. They provide snacks every day, the people are great, and as long as all your work is getting done, they don't micromanage much. Benefits are nothing special, but...

    Cons

If you're on the phones, your schedule is a lot more set, given that they have to have coverage, so if you're someone who wants frequent breaks or a varied schedule, a job here on the phone probably isn't for you. UpRight Law is also a startup, so things can change rapidly around here, so you need to be flexible.

    Advice to Management

I've seen too many good employees get burnt out because they were given extra responsibilities due to changes in the company, and then either be overloaded or not compensated properly for the increased responsibility.

I have been working at UpRight Law full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working at UpRight Law is all about the people you are surrounded by. We are a team who truly works together across departments to make everyone's life a bit easier. I came to work here thinking that it would be an in and out kind of position, since I was starting as a Senior Client Sales Consultant, which didn't fully peak my interest. I also had absolutely no bankruptcy experience, but training was easy to understand...

    Cons

Though there is unlimited paid time off, you have to work pretty hard for it. At times, management does not necessarily see how hard someone is working unless their "numbers" are up, without taking into consideration that a lot of the time we are being pulled in different directions if we don't have one designated job. There used to be a lot of work sponsored events, like happy hours, but those have died down a bunch...

    Advice to Management

See your employees more, eye to eye, and understand that we are working very hard to build your law firm into the best it can be. Compensate us more for that where necessary and don't make us beg for our raises or bonus structure changes.

I have been working at UpRight Law full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Extremely laid back environment. Management allows you to do your job without micromanaging. Manage is also very supportive, there's always an answer for any question raised. They have managed to cultivate a almost "family" environment, I personally get along with everyone here. Pay is competitive. You're allowed to work from home in some instances.

    Cons

If I had to come up with a complaint it would have to be the commute. It can be a bit challenging coming into downtown Chicago everyday and depending on public transportation but other than that, I can't think of anything.

I worked at UpRight Law full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Generally laid back atmosphere. - Free snacks in the mornings. - Genuinely attentive team leads with a vested interest in your productivity. - Downtown location. - "Happy hour" in the office once or twice a week. - Healthy base pay. - Decent medical/dental/etc benefits. - Unlimited PTO. - If you are hitting your numbers, it's an overall enjoyable place to work.

    Cons

    - Zero work/life balance if you intend to make real money. Bottom line is if you want to get off "ramp" (probationary period) and start making real money (unless you have a law degree), you need to commit to 10 hour days and/or 6 day weeks. No exceptions. - While team leaders are good coaches, they gossip among themselves entirely too much in plain view and earshot of phone reps. It's like they believe you can't hear...

    Advice to Management

    - Drop the LegalZoom leads...they are trash. - Distribute the leads EQUALLY. Your reps notice the blatant imbalance. - Close the office on the weekend. This is such a no brainer. Not only are the leads poor, but most inbound calls are for Client Services and that department is closed as well on the weekend. Kinda hard for a phone rep to sell the firm's legitimacy when you're open on Saturday afternoons AND Sundays....
