I worked at Urban Lending Solutions (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay and benefits were good and has some really awesome co workers.

    Cons

Constant fear of being laid off. No recognition for good workers. No discipline for slackers. In fact the more you slack the more they like you. I believe the reason they lose so much business is due to slackers and people not caring if the work is done right.

    Advice to Management

Keep your good employees and let the o we who don't care go. You might be able to retain so.e business that way

Business hours were nice, no late nights, weekends or holidays.

    Cons

Couldn't keep great employees, the only ones that seemed to be kept are the ones who slacked off and were in with managers.

I have been working at Urban Lending Solutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

My direct management team was great. The team I worked with was awesome the culture in that team was helpfull and easy going.

    Cons

Urban never quite adapted one the mortgage crisis settled. They have not been able to obtain nor hold new buisness. We lost multiple potential big projects due to the financial issues urban had. Executives didn't work with employees at all, communication was non existent with a smoke and mirror attitude. When our cfo left no meeting or information was sent out regarding his departure. They now have sold off most of the company and are downsizing yet again. Executive team has poisoned it's workforce and caused an environment of apathy and mistrust. Urban also has not done any employee reviews or pay increases in years. Money was a touchy subject at this comany you didn't dare ask for a raise. I'm sure they don't read these reviews but they really should. Best advice? Stay away from this company.

    Advice to Management

I know your entire goal is padding your pockets and ensuring you have a golden parachute prepped but remember your employees drive the business. Learn to be more transparent with your employees and allow them to make constructive critiques.

    Pros

Pay was decent, however we were told that the bonus structure was changed and the requirements had still not been shared at the time I left. The fellow employee's are very helpful.

    Cons

Management does not listen, or address problems, there is no consistency, and they provide no feedback regarding your performance. People were throwing in their badges and walking out - RUNNING OUT, when they couldn't handle another minute.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. When you have a mass exodus it's obvious that you have ignored the problems.

I worked at Urban Lending Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    A few of my coworkers

    Cons

Way too speculative for anyone to ever leave a decent job, to go to work for Urban. They make themselves sound so much better than they really are. When the rubber meets the road, there you are all by yourself, no support, and you are laid off, in mass.

    Advice to Management

Staff according to real contracts, not based upon contracts you would like to have.

I worked at Urban Lending Solutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Overtime if you want it for the production staff. Stepping stone to get into various Banking/Real Estate employment opportunities.

    Cons

Lots of overtime even when you don't want it. Working holidays. Lower pay for the industry. Benefits package is not competitive and very expensive. Employee review system is highly inaccurate for job performance, I.e. , even Glassdoor using a 5 point system.

    Advice to Management

Invest in proper training for employees and set realistic expectations. Make improvements to the quality of life and , work/life balance of your employees. I saw far to many great employees leave to other opportunities due to feeling like a number. Stand by the company motto; be honest with your employees.
