I worked at Urban Outfitters part-time

    Pros

Cool coworkers, fun environment, amazing discount

    Cons

Everyone who works there is in their twenties so you're constantly having to cover people's shifts or close on the floor by yourself because people just leave without giving notice for a week. Late night closes as well.

    Advice to Management

Get more responsible young adults if you're going to have young adults run your store

I worked at Urban Outfitters part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I got hired quickly because a friend of mine already worked there, and if you already know someone who works at an Urban try to get a job at their location, it makes it way more fun especially in retail. The other associates at my location were all really friendly and funny, so were the managers who weren't much older than us college students. Also there are really really good discounts.

    Cons

While the younger managers were really cool, upper management got kind of intense and intimidating whenever they'd be working.

I have been working at Urban Outfitters full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Wear what you want. Sometimes creative opportunity. Fair discount. Lively environment. Opportunity to transfer between stores. Generally a lot of in company promotions for low and mid level.

    Cons

Late hours. Changing schedules. Pay is not competitive. Old broken down locations. Becoming too much like other retailers. Focusing too much on the bottom line and not the people who impact it.

    Advice to Management

Help your managers and employees to have a more stress free stable experience.

    Pros

Very fun group to work with. The rest of the employees were very nice and friendly and it made for a great work environment that was very enjoyable

The store didn't get a lot of traffic so there would be long stretches of time where there were no customers and I had nothing to do.
