    Pros

Easy, flexible, fun, great for creative minds!

    Cons

The only cons about UO are the cons you would find in any job in retail.

I worked at Urban Outfitters part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Discount was good. Fair share of OK employees.

    Cons

Horrible, snooty management. If you're a seasonal employee, you will only keep the job if you "fit in." It's cliquey and my coworkers didn't like me and I didn't even know why. I always felt like I wasn't 'cool' enough or 'talkative' enough or 'loud' enough or 'stylish' enough. Whenever I used my discount I got eyes rolled at. Was one out of 10 employees to get the boot after being a seasonal employee and it was through a mass email. Didn't even have the courtesy to take 20 minutes to call us one by one to notify us that they no longer wanted to associate with us. Claim we were let go of because of 'payroll' -- again, if that were the case, why did you hire so many of us? (COUGH) SHALLOW (COUGH). Coworkers all around trash-talked each seasonal employee.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring so many people for seasonal positions. If you're going to be judgmental don't hire people you don't wanna keep around. 10 dollars an hour for a 3 hour shift infuriated me, especially at the San Diego location I worked at. Pathetic excuse for management, the constant "I'm your superior, I don't need to befriend your peasantry" attitude is unnecessary. Stop making the same people do 'charity work'. Be courteous of people who are taking their time to come to work. Some people take the trolley and/or have to pay for an uber to get to work. IF YOU WANT TO CUT A WORKER'S SHIFT, NOTIFY THEM! This place has no room to grow. Regular employees get one 7 hour shift a week. The only reason to work there would be for the discount, no other benefits at all.

I worked at Urban Outfitters part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

No dress code, very welcoming environment and great vibe. My managers and coworkers became my close friends. They are very flexible when it comes to your availability and it is easy to get your shift covered it you need it.

    Cons

Late nights & very early mornings. The bigger the Urban Outfitters the longer it takes to close the store. Opening shifts are at 6am, three hours before the store opens. Don't expect more than a 20 cent raise once a year. Its hard to move up and may take years.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time training new hires instead of just throwing them in the water. Also, give more opportunities and information on how to become a team lead.

I have been working at Urban Outfitters (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -No dress code
-Flexible schedules if you're a student
-Good merchendise discounts (60% off of 3 clothing items and one accessory item a month and 40% off otherwise)
    -Some good managers
-Nice location since you're basically in the heart of San Diego

    Cons

-Finding parking is terrible and expensive
-Food in the area is expensive so you have to bring your own lunch
-You have to deal with homeless people and drunks on a daily basis
    -LOTS of shoplifters
-The atmostphere tends to be depressing and draining inside the store
-Alot of employees (including managers) can be snobby or stuck up and the stores are very clique based
-Unstable hours, you could have 8 hours one week and 40 the next week
-High turnover with managers (only been working for a few months and have already gone through 3 women's managers, 2 womens accessory managers and 2 mens managers)
-You get bashed for mistakes and never praised for hard work
-Alot of attitude from coworkers, lots of tension which makes you feel like youre walking on egg shells.
-Never enough coverage on the floor so you have alot of tasks while still expected to keep the floor up to the store's high standards
-It is made to seem like a easygoing job but there are ALOT of rules and procedures

I worked at Urban Outfitters full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - you will make 1-2 decent friends here
    -decent discount

    Cons

    LOTS OF CONS
    I worked here for years
Very immature staff especially at my store
Extremely unprofessional non qualified department managers, Sms/Smms.
Promotions were based off favoritism not work ethic(then again this is company wide)
managers constantly late to there shifts, taking 2 hr lunch breaks, in the office watching youtube while there rest of the staff on floor is busy.
-store did not follow OSHA regulations. You would have boxes during holiday time for shipment touching the ceiling with 1-2 peope processing shipment of 200 boxes...
The list goes on. This is why Urban gets sued constantly.
    -very low wage
-as a team leader you were essentially second in command of your department.
You will assume the role of a manager a lot but get paid 9-11 dollars an hr.

    Advice to Management

Clean your house. Fire your DM's and store managers. Honestly My advice is to anyone looking to work here just don't. This company is slowly going out of business anyways.

I have been working at Urban Outfitters (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun working environment, great music, lots of creative freedom. Individuality is something that is encouraged. The clothes are amazing. Love the employee discount, and the people that I worked with. I loved that we rotated positions instead of staying in one spot all night.

    Cons

Sometimes the managers didn't seem to enjoy their jobs and that really rubbed off on everyone else. Things seemed to be a little disorganized at times. The pay could have been better

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people who are working for you, try to at least act like you enjoy your job, stop bringing the room down
