I have been working at Urban Science full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great People
    Depending on Team, New Development
    Relaxed Work Environment

    Cons

Upper Management has no clue what is going on.
Lot of emphasis on more revenue every year, but no emphasis and research and development, so we are stuck with stale old products.
Depending on what team you are on, you could be happy or miserable.

    Advice to Management

The bonus' are super noncompetitive, and yet we receive no profit sharing this year. You are going to lose people if you don't take care of them.

    Pros

The people and the knowledge you learn in order to get out of there as soon as you can. Its hard to find to find anything else.

    Cons

Everything else. The benefits keep getting worse, and the pay and bonuses are a joke. For a company that has has "year over year records for the last 28 years" and to pay their employees like they do are a joke. Yet HR lies and tells you they are competitive yet the turn over is huge

    Advice to Management

Fire the C sweet and start over

I have been working at Urban Science full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent Benefits for family,Latest technologies,Cool downtown office,Unlimited Sick Leave,Excellent 401k match (8%), Generous PTO days,Cool contests like Hackathon,US Day. If you are in entry level or mid level in your career, this is one of the best companies you can work for, if you are interested to work in Microsoft technologies that is. This is completely Microsoft shop. Coworkers are smart but sometimes, it will lead to multiple meetings to discuss same things. Company has bonus program + profit sharing. Work/Life balance is better in core (atleast in my team), client facing departments has busy and free times (before start of a new client project). This is one of the companies which has shown profit growth year after year for 30 years consecutively (a third person told me in the elevator when I told him i work here)

    Cons

Going up the ladder is a big problem. It can happen very slowlly in core departments.Client facing departments seems to promote people fast than core.

    Advice to Management

Do what you are doing regarding benefits wise. You are the best. Would like to see people getting promoted for their work in core team as well.

I have been working at Urban Science full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Seems hard to get fired with so many people leaving

    Cons

Urban Science has made strides in increasing their starting pay, though nothing for current employees. For those taking a vow of poverty, Urban Science will help you achieve your goal

Once, you are brought in, expect virtually no raises or bonuses as well as little to no vertical movement opportunities

    Advice to Management

Sell out now while you still can
