Once the company was acquired, the CEO got his money, disappeared, and abandoned his team.

Pros
New management team is much better. Great office location, space that is creative and collaborative. Great new focus on businesses vs consumer.
Cons
Inter-company communication can improve. Still a few employees not fully on board with the SAAS focus. Need to cycle them out.

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Ustream
Pros
The new products were really great. The CS team had good feedback from the customers, our performance improved a lot. Communication with the HU teams became quite smoothly. Regular town halls, update from the different teams, the company vision is communicated by the management.
Cons
No real cons. Fast pace, quick moving. Sometimes too fast. You have to be very flexible. I had to answer a lot of customer support ticket requests.

Pros
Amazing team to work with, great office space, really powerful product that can change the world. Fast pace like a startup should be.
Cons
Still working through our shift to SAAS from consumer. Its exciting though and challenging. Some times the dogs bark too loudly and I hear complaints about that. Startup life can sometimes be stressful.

Pros
I think video is the future of the internet and Ustream is a great company leading the way. Office culture is very fast pace, but friendly. Benefits are very strong compared to my last company. They pay Caltrain. Good medical. Great office and snacks. Lunches, bagels, etc. I like our vision and direction
Cons
No real complaints. Starting to get bigger and more processes. I guess that can be good and bad.

Pros
- Awesome new products we are rolling out - Renewed product energy and vision - Exciting SaaS company - In SF! Duh, best city in the world! Cool looking new office in Europe also but I have only seen pictures - Video is very hot market
Cons
- Company went through change. Some people still not on board completely - Only serve food once a week (but I'm a foodie) - Could use more standing desks

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Ustream for more than a year
Pros
Company has gotten more engaged with its customers and markets, there have been less ad hoc product direction or sudden strategy shifts than before. Resources are being spent more wisely and some recent changes in management had a positive result on my team. The platform works great for the most part and customers are pretty pleased.
Cons
Office is right next to Caltrain, great if you do Caltrain but sucks if you ride BART like I do. Pay raises are hard to earn, you need to really stand out and lobby hard to get one.

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Ustream full-time for less than a year
Pros
Benefits and perks are SF standard / slightly above. Location is A+ for me (Soma, right next to Caltrain). The product, technology and brand are dominant in the space.
Cons
I arrived in the middle of a pivot and quite a few folks (including VPs) have been replaced since then. Not that I minded most of these changes, on the contrary...

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Ustream full-time for more than a year
Pros
Passionate CEO who inspires. The technology is powerful and has many great applications for enterprise. Video is a very hot market which is exciting having come from an old industry. The team of people really gel well. Transparency has really improved over the last few years. As a team we focused more on our culture over the last year and our values which I think is important. I learned alot about this during the my experience here.
Cons
No real cons. My only complaint is sometimes people bring dogs in the office, so if you aren't a dog person (I'm not sorry!) then this might be an issue. It's not too bad though.
