    benefits include Federal Pension once worked 5 years or more; 401k (TSP) matching up to 5%.

    Cons

    red tape for instance, takes 3 months to onboard; management issues such as hostile work environments where employees are given 'resources' that are simply performative; highly overworked

    Pros

    There is a lot of job security, easy to move around to various other positions, and the pay is better than the private sector social work services.

    Cons

    The VA is a large bureaucracy, which means that there is a lot of red tape to manage for simple tasks.

    Pros

    Steady pay and decent health insurance

    Cons

    too many to list....Endless red tape...Back stabbing.....Can't fire under performers....no talent at staff levels, or they are too scared to be aggressive and effective....meetings and more meetings and yet more meetings to discus yet more meetings...Seen many young professional engineers destroyed-ground up and spit out by an agency that desperately needs young engineers...in two years I'll retire and RUN away.
