Full disclosure: I worked for the company for seventeen years. I was released with a nice severance package in March of 2008. I worked in the contacts division of Imagewear in Nashville. The work was intense and we spent a lot of time reacting to customer's concerns rather than protectively working to make the business better. Fortunately our group manager was there to do that. The job was difficult but rewarding. VF was a good company to work for with solid business principles. Were they perfect? Of course not - They let me go. But is it a good place to work? Yes, I always thought so. Good people and strong company. Even my separation, while not my decision, was handled professionally, and with courtesy. I was treated well.

Cons

There was a tendency during my tenure to seek talent from the outside rather than promote from within. This is a common occurrence among larger companies though and it didn't hold me back from my career path.

First - I was not allowed to post a review for a job ending year earlier than 2012. I actually left the company in March of 2008. Full disclosure - My leaving was not voluntary. VF is a good, solid company. They paid well and I was treated well. The work was challenging and often difficult. The corporate culture was what you might expect from any Fortune 500 company. Upper management tended to put the company first, Middle management tended to be more concerned about the employees. This is as it should be. The benefits were good, and the schedules were flexible. My boss (who ultimately let me go) was fair and honest. I actually would rather work for him again than my current employer even though I am now at a very good company. If you're looking for a perfect job at a perfect company, wake up and start looking for a little common sense. VF is a good place to work as long as you keep your priorities in line and understand that they will also.

Cons

I have nothing bad to say about the company. I wish they had kept me, but I know it was a business decision. I would have made a different call, but I can't fault VF or the man who let me go. I've noticed too many negative comments on this site from former employees that smack of bitterness. Life goes on.

the staff is very helpful. the working time is flexible. the company gave the best pay rate. there is discounts on some famous Canadian brands.

no night shifts agency workers did not get discounts
