I worked at VINCI Construction full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Exciting work within professional, multicultural teams. All kinds of jobsites location, usually expatriation in interesting countries. The management chain is dedicated and generally intent on personal growth. Excellent autonomy for project managers and their teams. Accepting to move every few years is a bit of a life choice, it can be very rewarding.

    Cons

Everything depends on which deals get signed and where, which makes it difficult to anticipate your next location. That can be difficult to handle over the long term.

I have been working at VINCI Construction full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Other team members are fab (I’m site based), good benefits. Very flexible when needed, variety of work load. All staff throughout the company are very friendly and helpful

    Cons

No real local induction to explain policies, processes etc. I’ve Had to find every thing out for myself. Quite disorganised in this respect

    Advice to Management

No real local induction to explain policies, processes etc. I’ve Had to find every thing out for myself. Quite disorganised in this respect. Also poor that the payment for purchase of additional holidays is taken in one payment each April (which I can’t afford in one go).

I worked at VINCI Construction full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Company car
    Short hours
    Subsidised lunches
IT Architect (B.Paddick) is a bit of a freak of nature, very clever guy

    Cons

Call centre type mentality, untold stats etc
Lots of political red tape stopping staff from progressing quickly

    Advice to Management

Just because an employee has been around longer does not mean they are better for a promotion. You need to recognize young passionate staff or they will not hang around long enough for you to reap the benefits.

I worked at VINCI Construction full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great job if you want to cruise. Low work ethic and very poor management and no leadership. You can do nothing for 10yrs

    Cons

If you want to better yourself and progress through management, this is not the place

    Advice to Management

There is a major lack in leadership and a culture of “I’ve known you for 5yrs here is a promotion”. This is where Vinci fails.

    Pros

Opportunity to work on big jobs

    Cons

low pay - no structured plan for undergraduates

    Advice to Management

have a structured training/learning/development for undergraduates so that they can learn and develop in an efficient instead of handing off the odd administrative task. Or even leaving them in the dark, for them to sink or swim.

    Pros

Well defined systems and Senior Management are easily approachable. Middle East Operations MD - Ivan Norris is one of the best to work with.

    Cons

Couldn't secure enough projects for the employees to continue with.

    Advice to Management

To concentrate more into Middle East Culture and have a strong sponsorship.
