    Pros

Great teamwork and people. Really enjoy my co-workers, company philosophy and work environment. Days fly by as I'm so busy. It's interesting and challenging. Manager is encouraging and kind. Benefits are great.

    Cons

You have to "stay at it". Recruiting physicians for locum tenens is not for the feint of heart! Ramp up time is a good six months.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Consider getting input from your recruiters and schedulers in terms of what they think their goals should be? If a recruiter is "given" some providers ... make sure their goals reflect that gift!

    Pros

The field of work, you get to help medical professionals find work, which helps rural communities that need medical professionals

    Cons

The leadership is very bad...not really sure what they do, for being so small, they have meetings all the time yet we hear nothing about them. Leaders are selfish, they focus more on kissing the rear ends of those above them instead of actually caring and investing into their employees. Pay is horrible, CHG pays more, Right to Work state..time to freshen up the resume cause CHG is hiring!!

    Advice to Management

Get a clue...its not all about you. This company is horrid and karma will bite you

    Pros

Good entry level experience, will allow you to move up and into better industries.

    Cons

Nepotism is rampant in this company and the culture has 100% changed for the worse since they were last sold. The opportunity isn't what it used to be and it certainly isn't what they make it out to be in the interview process, buyer beware.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the employees who are performing even if they aren't the top top performers. If it is the team culture you espouse, then the performers who consistently produce should be just as valued and built around them rather than constantly adding more employees that directly compete to try and keep pace with the increasingly rapid turnover culture that has been created.

I worked at VISTA Staffing Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Many great co-workers, and management can be great to work for if you're lucky enough to get on the right team. This is a good role to be in if you want to advance to other roles in the sales side. It's a no pressure way to learn the business and figure out if it's right for you. Decent benefits. A lot of the people have been at VISTA a long time, and they are close and it gives incentive to build those relationships if you stay. This is a unique industry and there's so much to learn about. This is a pro in a sense if you're the type of person who likes new things. The President does want to work to improve things and they make attempts to do so, which is admirable.

    Cons

You're basically an assistant to the scheduler and the team. If you enjoy that sort of thing, this is the job for you. In the interview process, they weren't clear about what the position really is. It has potential to more than it is, and could be more rewarding. The pay isn't great, and the bonus is tough to fully earn. This company is focused primarily on sales (nothing wrong with sales, just not everyone's fit), so if you're looking for a way to shine it's not in this position. Support spots are over looked and generally under appreciated. The company is moving further south, and the low pay isn't enough of an incentive to stick it out. There is definitely a high turnover rate at this company, which is something that should be evaluated.

    Advice to Management

This place is one large clique of people. Management needs to work harder at not playing favorites. Develop new ways to get your leads, and put your new recruiters in better positions to start off, so it's not so discouraging leaving voice mails every day with no good leads.

I have been working at VISTA Staffing Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The interview process isn't stressful at all with the initial interviews, and they make you feel comfortable and ask questions that aren't interrogating. There is a strong sense of team work and many people build strong friendships. Recognition is given each month for everyone who reached their goals.

    Cons

They can be pretty selective who they hire but they want to maintain a strong sales team. Support rolls can be easily forgotten sometimes most of the focus is on sales teams.

    Advice to Management

More communication between departments would be helpful especially when working with tight deadlines and the other office out of state.

I worked at VISTA Staffing Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - VISTA employees are generally awesome people who are fun to work with
    - If you put in the time and can handle the cons, the pay can become very lucrative (base pay is $35,000/year and combined base+commission averages about $55,000 total for a recruiter and +/- $20,000 for a Scheduling Director. After a few years of building a pool, these numbers usually increase by 10k per year.
    - Office location (although I hear they are moving to the mouth of BC Canyon)
    - Average benefits
    - IF your numbers are on target, you are not micromanaged

    Cons

I view these as cons, some people wouldn't. I think its best to understand 100% what you are getting into:
    - You will make 80 calls per day (usually that means 70 voicemails)
    - You are making calls to people on their home phones/cell phones to solicit VISTA's services
    - You are recruiting for contract medical providers: This means the provider is an independent contractor and does not receive benefits/has to do their own taxes.
    - You are typically recruiting individuals to travel to remote and undesirable locations to work
    - Even after "making a deal" there are a lot of variables that cause them to fall apart. This is difficult after you develop emotional attachments to "your providers."

Additionally, management is extremely hard to work with. They are 100% focused on numbers, very clearly do not put heavy emphasis on caring for the well-being of providers, and can be very frustrating. Some managers are different that others, but that was my experience.

Evryone is not going to be satisfied all of the time. They are still transitioning.

I have been working at VISTA Staffing Solutions (More than a year)

    Pros

Not bad location. Although they are looking to move to the mouth of the canyon in the entirely different direction within the year.

    Cons

Everything!!!! Poor work environment. Definitely a "good ole boys" feel with management. LOTS and LOTS of promises that never come through. Poor pay.. they have a draw for your base salary. Just when your book of business starts turning commission's that is when they start taking your money away. No career path. Applied to internal positions that were given to "friends" with no real merit of experience in the industry etc. If you are not fake and pretend to like everyone you talk to you won't get far in the company. Benefits are not great.. i have spent more money on medical costs since covering my family with their insurance and it doesn't benefit people who have chronic problems to manage.

    Advice to Management

You need to clean house. It always starts with management.
