I worked at VIVA Pediatrics full-time

    Pros

The owners are very good people Very fair to nurses and has great communication with both clients & nurses Decent entry level job to gain experience

    Cons

Subpar leadership in the company from management and no real structure in the office Sloppy training for office staff Very caddy office environment, favoritism Outdated recruiting plans Bonus structure that was promised but not attainable, was not scaled for our tiny office Bare minimum benefits given, unheard of health insurance company that was useless Upper management cold and strictly numbers... driven Passive aggressive, underqualified, unsupportive management in Austin office

    Advice to Management

Truly give your office staff appreciation, create a more positive, up to date inclusive company culture and implement qualified, more approachable management. Create a better solution to concerns other than, "this is home health, that's just the way it is." Maybe employees will be motivated, more productive and will want to stay with the company.

I have been working at VIVA Pediatrics full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible schedule, cordial managers, learning inservices are provided routinely. Able to develop new skills if desired. The cases are usually in near proximity if desired.

    Cons

They never have enough nurses per case and never have a back-up nurse, putting the nurse on case into a bind when they can't work a shift. employee benefits are non-existent, and there's no PTO for employees except for the office staff.... terrible scheduling and communication relay.

    Advice to Management

    Nurses should be treated better.

I have been working at VIVA Pediatrics full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It's private duty nursing where you only have 1 patient which is always nice compared to all other types of nursing.

    Cons

No matter how much a nurse is willing to go out of their way, this company does not appreciate their nurses. However, they are kind enough to let nurses work the hours they want.

    Advice to Management

Without your nurses, your company wouldn't exist. Just realize that. Follow through with your promises to your nurses. Don't make us bring paperwork into the office in order to be able to get paid. We work hard.
