I have been working at VMware full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is my first job after Master's and I am loving it. Worked in India for two years.
It's been over two years now in VMware. The company has provided me all the support I needed. The learning curve is amazing. Lots of benefits, everyday learning availability, amazing management, benefits for military, you name it.

    Cons

Atlanta office isn't really a great infrastructure. It needs a lot more renovation.

    Advice to Management

I don't think I have anything for them... except: Keep it up :)

I have been working at VMware full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are great as long as your department allows you to have them.
    Great Healthcare
    Laid back
    Great events with Alcohol
    "Unlimited PTO"
    Working from home

    Cons

    Unlimited vacation is not unlimited.
Working from home can be limited by your manager and even taken away.
Management doesn't speak to one another which adds to the confusion and disorganization. Especially as a remote worker. The management blames the workers if there are mess ups even if the management is also disorganized. Management doesn't hesitate to throw their workers under the bus and cover their own butts.

    Advice to Management

Be more understanding towards your workers. Management is quick to point out flaws rather than praise. A company wide policy applies to the whole company not just a select few. This company is ranked in the top 40 to work for. It doesn't feel that way at all. The benefits that set this company apart are what make people want to stay. Take those benefits away and this is nothing more than a regular workplace.

    Pros

Great people, open atmosphere, good work, good benefits.

    Cons

Political, Upper Management very secretive, work life balance was provided in exchange for being available to work whenever called for E.G. long days or weekends. Limited upward mobility.

I worked at VMware full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Industry leading software and good company culture make for a great work environment. Good training and good benefits

    Cons

Due to recent acquisition things seem to always be changing. Hopefully this will get ironed out in 2017

    Advice to Management

Better communication from management to sales team would have been very helpful. Every quarter there was always questions as to what changes would be made and weeks would go by before any answers were given. As I said above, hopefully this gets ironed out in 2017.

I have been working at VMware full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are on the right team, it will be the best work experience of your career.
    1st class benefits
Honest leadership even though they make mistakes

    Cons

Cons are very little. Of course it depends on you job, manager, section. My only problem was that they had to lay me off. They did it in the best way possible with respect and as much help for me to transition as best as I could. Thank You.

    Advice to Management

The focus on inclusion was a little too much communication wise. When you over talk something it looses its value sometimes.

    Pros

    lot to learn.
attractive salary if you negotiate well in the beginning.

    Cons

midlevel politics blocks many from growing, talented people tend to leave after sometime because the mid level management tries to keep them low artificially in order to protect their "old boys" network.

    Advice to Management

differentiate the doers from credit takers.
