I have been working at VOHRA Wound Physicians for more than 10 years

    Pros

Autonomy in making the schedule that fits my needs. Excellent practice support and quality in training, education and improved patient care. Allowing me to focus on clinical care instead of the business side of medicine has been invaluable. Vohra is a pioneer in wound care.

    Cons

    Extended coverage can be difficult

I have been working at VOHRA Wound Physicians full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I make my own schedule, lead wound care teams at my facilities, work for a company that is still changing and progressive, take no call, work no weekends, define and assert my role as a patient advocate, management policies to help mitigate risk

    Cons

2 weeks of vacation a year, driving on undivided highway, constantly training new staff, low population density, follow through subject to formulary and insurance, flat reimbursement for debridements, rehab facilities and nursing homes can be fickle, litigation-prone specialty

Thank you for the feedback and for the 5 stars. Your voice is heard. The schedule flexibility, with no nights and weekends are huge highlights of this type of practice. We appreciate your role caring for your patients and educating nurses. Vohra's MDS 3.0 compliant wound documentation ...

I have been working at VOHRA Wound Physicians full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Being a physician is such a rewarding experience, however it really takes a toll on my time with my wife and children. I missed so much of my kids milestones and events because I was always on call and working odd hours. With Vohra I have a flexible schedule during regular hours. I don't work past 5:00 and am never on call. I have the weekends to spend time with my family and still enjoy the perks of what I went to school...

    Cons

I live in a rural area so sometimes the travel can be a bit much. I suppose this isn't really a con against the company based on my choice of where to reside/practice. I now have personally figured a way to make my schedule work by mapping out facilities within the same vicinity of each other and tend to those patients one day and then make my way to all of the facilities in other areas on other days. Thankfully I love...

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. Continue to provide us doctors with the ability to basically run our own practice while having the support of a steadfast corporation.

I worked at VOHRA Wound Physicians full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

No call, no weekends, good pay, intellectually challenging. If you like wound care (and that's a big if), this is a great job, with predictable hours and very good pay.

    Cons

You have to be willing to work in multiple facilities, you have to be willing to work in nursing homes, you have to be OK with wound care, and corporate is far away (I was fine with these things, but for some they are negatives.)

    Advice to Management

An MD friend of mine was recently between jobs and tired of the rat race of every fourth night call, every other weekend on call, declining revenue, increasing demands, etc., or as I like to call it, the usual MD job in our current crazy health care system. I told him to check out Vohra Wound Physicians, since I thought it might be a good fit for him. I worked for them for about 4 years. I had a good experience, and left...
