    Pros

    Employee discounts on Klipsch products.

    Cons

Upper management does not allow people to have the resources needed to complete a job, but then gets upset at them when project issues occur. This is in engineering, sales, and product management.

    Advice to Management

Learn to trust your employees in their requests for tools.

    Pros

The pay checks don't bounce. There are some great people that work here. Some good events that make the company look good to the business world and community, you may get to participate if you are lucky.

    Cons

This is a company designed to benefit the top ten people only. There is no mid management level that gives you an opportunity to move into Sr. Management. The pay scale for VP and above is far beyond industry standards, and the support for the working class is little to none. There is an arrogance that is un-real and a true belief that if upper management was not there the company would collapse. In most companies they tell you to "get it in writing",here that doesn't even matter. Do your research, read websites like seeking alpha to understand the corporate culture, know your are expendable and always have a plan b, if you do these things you are good to go. There is no security or comfort here unless you are family, and there is a ton of that (management). Open lawsuits, Sr. Management group that is all within a few years of retirement, and the belief that you can speak to, treat, employees as you wish.
I know this all sounds bad, and yes there are people that have been here for years but between pay cuts, benefit cuts, and most doing the job of 3 or more people I am amazed that some stay, I did not.

    Advice to Management

No advice, they know better then everyone. Retirement is coming, they will take it all with them.
Change the cassette tape with the music on hold, it's really bad.

I worked at VOXX International (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very family oriented/flexible. Good business opportunities/models. Great health insurance. Work atmosphere is good. Lots of clients to expand business to.

    Cons

No room for advancement unless you work at HQ in New York. Buy up small companies then get rid of employees. People are unfriendly.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of upper management on NY. All have been there over 20 years. You need fresh people.

    Pros

If you like to kiss the CFO's butt, this is the place for you. Good benefits.

    Cons

Bad management. CFO has her little group of butt kissers who listen to her stories while they pretend to care. If you're in her clique, she'll buy you lunch everyday with the company credit card. Lots of office gossip. If you take a day off, the CFO talks behind your back.

    Advice to Management

    Replace your CFO!

I worked at VOXX International (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pat Lavelke is a nice guy however he needs to clean house in many of the Sr leadership positions at Vox

    Cons

Many of the senior leaders are not nice people and their language and commits in closed meetings are unbelievable. They need to go! The inventory and forecasting systems are obsolete. This company is operating on a shell game, which is why the stock is in the tank and why they just had another round of layoffs. Stay clear of them as an employee and dealer/retailer.

    Advice to Management

Jon and Pat you should fire the President and CFO

No micro management. Do your job to the best of your abilities and you have little to stress or worry about.

    Cons

Untrained people make your job difficult when your told to grant Admin rights to them

    Advice to Management

Find out what benefits an application provides without considering 1980's telephone technology

    Pros

    Very good environment
    Good health insurance plan
    Diverse business model
Company buying similar business's to increase product market penetration.
    Treats it's employees well

    Cons

Too many eggs in too many baskets
Communication between divisions should be better
(Internal politics are not terrible compared to other companies)
Internal politics should be crushed by upper management for the good of the company

    Advice to Management

    Take advice from Clint Eastwood;
    "Paraphrased"
    "Know your limitations"
    Meaning;
Admit and know what the company is good at, and ONLY do that
When the market is good, even bad companies can do well.
When the economy is sketchy and competition is tough, upper management must be on the top of their game to make and keep a company profitable
