I worked at VSP Vision Care full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I met some of my best friends here.

    Cons

Profits over employees. Cut benefits. Cut bonus. Cut merit increase. As a hopeful employee, I was told that going above and beyond was always rewarded. I pitched the idea to make a program to streamline a procedure, and I got the supervisor approval. I created software (as a CSR) that ended up saving an estimated $100,000 in the first 6 months of it’s use. This would have ended in me getting a “Gold Vision” award, but instead I was put on corrective action for not doing emails while taking phone calls, and ultimately let go due to covid. They made 6 billion dollars the prior year, but couldn’t afford to keep me on. The previous CEO of VSP Was pushed to resign because he didn’t favor profits over people. The new guy Mike loves money. He continues to cut the already terrible benefits they offer their employees. Don’t waste your time with this awful place.

I worked at VSP Vision Care full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

On the IT side, most of the people are friendly and professional. There are bottom-up efforts to build comradery that work.

    Cons

Migrating to new infrastructure while supporting legacy systems is difficult, especially when migration schedules are unclear and constantly revised. Sometimes the stakeholders do not seem to know what they want or need
