I worked at VTB Capital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The opportunity to work with talented people. The culture is very collegiate and down to earth. Despite stereotypes about Russians, I found them very warm and very respectful. Interesting work and business.

    Cons

Decision-making can be slow and bureaucratic. The company has suffered due to the situation in Russia. A shame because it has significant promise.

    Advice to Management

Trust your people. Remove the bureaucracy.

I worked at VTB Capital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Plenty of projects to be involved in and many quality people hired from tier 1 banks during the build out to be an Investment Bank.

    Cons

Being part of the VTB Group it is quite political and down to who you know and back. Also with the Russian government as majority shareholder means any sanctions against Russia will impact business. Work/life balance is not good.

    Advice to Management

Existing staff is as good as newly hired ones and stick to a strategy and see it out.
