    Pros

If you want to start a sales career, this is the place to go. You'll learn quickly how to manage your time (only to realize that you will get behind quickly), manage a territory, manage specialists, and manage suppliers (free lunches!).
It's better to start as a Sales Associate, then move into a full rep role within 1-2 years.

Brand new full reps get pretty much baptism by fire (in some ways, unfairly).
The key is to make sure you get a good manager, which are few and far between.
If you want to move up in the corporate world, VWR can be the place to do it.

    You have two options:
1 - Use the sales position as training for your next job
2 - Stick it out for years and move up and around within VWR

    Cons

Very corporate. You are a small cog in a very large machine. If you want to make a meaningful impact within a company, you cannot do it at VWR unless you are a regional VP or higher.

There is a bit of nepotism in some areas of VWR.

For the amount of work and stress you get in a full rep role, you are underpaid. You also get behind very quickly.

It can be frustrating communicating with VWR's India operations.

    Advice to Management

Keep developing a proper training program for new reps.
Bring all the India jobs back to the the US.

    I worked at VWR full-time

    Pros

Large company with top notch facilities and distribution centers. Global presence.

    Cons

Recently purchased by private equity. Cost cutting rules the day.

    Advice to Management

Meter the change or a mass exit of talent will have impact on ability to sustain the business.
