I have been working at VWR full-time

    Pros

    Benefits are good but expensive

    Cons

Lacks diversity.. Good old boys club. They don't take kindly to strong women and minorities. It's not VWR but more of the avantor side and their sub unit.. Organization needs cultural and diversity training. Managers speak to employee s as if they are second class citizen s and honestly if you are a minority you are treated worse but sub division.

    Advice to Management

Must be diverse with better pay..

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at VWR full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Central location, corporate health initiative, not much else.

    Cons

VWR as a whole never really paid well. The environment was rich is knowledge and you could look forward to learning more and moving up. Now that Avantor has come in to clean shop it all has changed. Long time performers at every level are either being asked to leave or jumping ship. The work aura is very depressing. People who have been here for 10+, 15+ or 20+ years are leaving and taking their knowledge with them. The strategy of Avantor seems to be cut first and figure it out later.

    Advice to Management

Ask those who actually run the day to day business what their ideas are. You may not come up with a complete solutions but they are the ones who know the issues. If the pay was comparable with the market you may be able to get more qualified employees.
