I worked at Valcartier Vacation Village full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Get to enjoy the water park for free on your days off and free parking has well when you come in to work.

    Cons

Unfair judgement by the managing team. Lots of bullying and they do not appreciate your hard work you do for them. Not there for you when need it. You can get fired and layoff for illegal things. Lifeguard are not all physical in good shape to do the job. All staff stop enforcing rules by the month of July. Lastly, not guarantee that your shift can be cover has they can refuse it for a lot for reason.

    Advice to Management

CHECK QUALIFICATIONS AT THE INTERVIEW WILL HELP WITH SAFETY I think all returning staff should do another interview just in case they cause trouble the previous season and to double check their interest of coming back Reduce the number of hours and days that slide attendants/lifeguards has to work. It's really not good for their health.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Valcartier Vacation Village full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

New management has began improving the communication issue and the organization within the Restaurant Department. Employees are happier and know more of what is expected of them. More support from management is being provided to employees allowing employees to better do their job.

    Cons

Manager and employee training is greatly lacking where as employees do not know what is expected of them, they do not know now to properly and safely handle equipment and they do not know enough about the Calypso Water Park as a whole to solve problems and answer customer questions. Job descriptions for both management and employees are unclear and thus cause miscommunication and issues with safety and sanitary... aspects.

    Advice to Management

Management must work more on communication between the many departments in order to provide employees with consistent information which would prevent 80% of the work and customer related issues. Specifically, communication with the managers of each department must be improved so as to make sure the managers understand what is expected of them as well as to allow them to do their job properly.

I worked at Valcartier Vacation Village part-time

    Pros

Les gens sont gentils et bon salaire.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Faire attention à ses employés, parce qu’avec de bons employés, un meilleur service.
