I have been working at Valeo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent salary, ok benefits, good commute

    Cons

Management is incompetent and hostile. HR is worthless.
Pigeon holed in your position. Have to get your manager's permission and their manager's permission just to apply for an internal position.

    Advice to Management

Break up your little posse. Hire true talent and leaders. Grow the business in sustainable steps. Address the issues.

I have been working at Valeo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Jobs I've done so far seem easy enough to catch on quick. People seem mostly pleasant.

    Cons

Start off as a "Temp-To-Hire " with a lot of people saying it takes at least 9 months in order to get hired on. Some team leaders emphasize on "Parts per hour" which logically is counter productive if you want quality product.

    Advice to Management

Stick with daily quotas for parts

I have been working at Valeo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere and work environment, easy going co workers, most fellow employees are very helpful to the new guys.

    Cons

The point system is extreme. You have a heart attack and leave in an ambulance, you get pointed. The amount of time it takes to gain back points is unreal.

    Advice to Management

Learn when to know it's time to be understanding, and learn to know when it's time to be firm.

I have been working at Valeo full-time

    Pros

Exterior lighting is actually a technically challenging field. You will be able to see your work on the road, on tv, and in magazines.

    Cons

Communication is horrible. Engineers can be micromanaged to death. Other times they are given no direction at all. Training on how to actually do your job is minimal if there is any at all. More emphasis is put on perception than actually doing your job well. We are constantly put down instead of built up. Everyday is a new example of how to not do things right.

    Advice to Management

Ask your employees what they need to make Valeo a better place. Make retention of employees a measure of success. Send management to training on how to be effective managers.

    Pros

Salary is competitive. People are generally nice. Products are innovative. Very smart people are there that you can learn from.

    Cons

Very stressful job. Work and personal life balance is impossible to maintain. Worked every weekend for 8 months. Senior management gets fired very often. High turn over.
