    Pros

    Supportive family - like atmosphere
Great communication between different disciplines / departments
Good growth opportunities throughout the organization

A lot of different mergers / acquisitions over the years; which entailed quite a bit of volatile change in systems, processes, org structure, etc in a short amount of time.

I worked at Valley Baptist Health System (Texas) full-time

    Pros

Decent pay, new employees every 4 months.

    Cons

Favoritism plays a big role, management needs improvement. Job description is not accurate, I was hiring for one position and was assigned to work on something out of my field of work.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees.

    Pros

Good team committed to improving industry and doing the right thing on behalf of patients. Opportunity for advancement. Close proximity to beach and outdoor activities supportive of good lifestyle if you like these type of activities.

    Cons

More decisions being made corporately and not as local. Market is challenging from a demographic standpoint. Predominantly Medicare and Medicaid populations.

    Advice to Management

Take best practices from across the system and replicate in individual markets.

I worked at Valley Baptist Health System (Texas) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay! Sign on bounds at this time is 20k for a 2 yr contract. With a base rate of 26-28/hr. Hospitalist MDs are great!

    Cons

Other MDs take a long time to return call. Some don't call back at all. It feels like it's all about the money and less about patient care.

    Advice to Management

You should focus on patient care more and then on your core measures.
