I worked at Valley Healthcare System (Georgia) full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free Healthcare, Clean work environment, great hours (8-5 with hour lunch), small so you get to know your coworkers well.

    Cons

There is a high turnover rate because of the following reasons:
Leadership is out of touch with the needs of the employee. In the mental health department the focus is on numbers, not the people. There was wide spread gossip and a lack of patient confidentiality. There is always tension between leadership. There is no upward movement. NO RAISES. No performance evaluations to document what you do well and what to improve. No professional development. No protocols for handling emergency situations. It lacks structure. Some people get privileges because they are family members or close friends to the CEO. The pay is low.

I worked at Valley Healthcare System (Georgia) full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great rewarding experience while it lasted

    Cons

Health Care Reform hurt their bottom end immensely. Now they are partnering with Stanford and I'm afraid it will become a corporate atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

The rest of the economy is improving and if they keep making cutbacks, at the employee level, they are going to lose a lot of great people.

    Pros

Family oriented enviroment with high ethics and vision standards. Patients come first which makes it an excellent healthcare facility. physician and medical teams leave their diffrences aside, making a workable enviroment. no copays if employees are seen in the many private offices.

    Cons

Hospital is non profit with better benefits given to the employees, while private office are provided with one forth less of the benefits. Which is not bad.

    Advice to Management

Hospital leadership is excellent along with quality of care. Private offices need to provide leadership and show equality evently, meaning older employee should work at the same level as the new commers.
