I worked at Valley Presbyterian Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits: Vacation, 401k, fun nurses, fun hospital staff (in general)

    Cons

    Nosey Co-worker, non-conforming supervisor/department heads

    Advice to Management

Listen to workers before rushing to judgements and firing employees

I have been working at Valley Presbyterian Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This place has undergone major changes and provides the community with resources it otherwise may not find. Great ER transformation and the 6 west rehab and wound care center does amazing!

    Cons

Sure, it's a small hospital and it has a family feel, but just like in a family, the department heads (administration included) choose favorites. Ive seen underqualified directors get a shield of protection (politics) while competent champions for change get dismissed or leave for better opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Take a close look at everything that has happened to the IT department, Pediatrics, Case Management, Patient Access, Business Office (naming a few) there is so much this hospital is not addressing that will hurt its reputation in the long run and already has.
Stop favoring and protecting weak leadership, and dismissing dedicated employees.
So many great employees have left and it is difficult to believe that senior management allows such potential to walk away.

I have been working at Valley Presbyterian Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits at Valley Presbyterian Hospital are good. For employee only, medical coverage is free.

    Cons

Working at Valley Presbyterian for about 10 years now. There are almost no opportunities to grow within the company. If you are looking for a company and expect to move up in a matter of about 1-2 years, then VPH is not the place to work. Salary is not great either, since it is very close to minimum wage for clerical positions.

I have been working at Valley Presbyterian Hospital full-time

    Pros

The pay the least amount in the valley.

    Cons

The pay is not competitive , and constantly work short as a RN. The patients are very difficult lots of deadbeats in the ER , drunks druggies . The nurse week gift must have cost them all of 25 cents, I'm sure somebody from PR completed the other reviews. Only reason to work there is if you cannot get a job someplace else ..

    Advice to Management

Give your staff competitive pay and benefits, you will get better patient satisfaction scores. The management has a superiority please if you were any could you would not be working at a bottom of the barrel hospital. also get EVS to clean properly , I would not send my worst enemy there for treatment.

I have been working at Valley Presbyterian Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Dedicated staff and leaders who care about patients and supporting the community.

    Cons

Need to offer more internal promotional opportunities in a fair and equitable manner. Some executive leadership is not very approachable and quick to criticise.

    Advice to Management

Look at leaders who show high favoritism to some and very limited support to others.
