There are a few good employees here. Their heart is in the right place, and they truly care for others. They work hard, and deserve better.
Toxic environment administration is horrible. Take over by Stanford 2 years ago. The first year things improved but then Stanford started pulling their people out. Currently you still have the same toxic group directing/managing the hospital. Scary!!! They have no idea what to do, where to go, or how to make things better. What was being done before was NOT working. Unless there is a major overhaul with administration this hospital will continue to go down. After that, work on improving our services for our patients.
I have been working at ValleyCare Health System full-time
Amazing staff who have stuck it out, even in the face of uncertainty. Folks who are able to provide amazing care to patients with equipment that is falling apart.
While the environment pre-merger was bad, it has gotten toxic post-merger. Administration claims to support staff but the actions do not back them up. At least under the prior administration there was a sense of humanity in the way staff were treated, all that is gone.
There used to be a family feel, and strong support among the Director level team, but that has been completely eroded and the "C" suite does not believe that there is any measure of importance in peer support.
Merger selection was a horrible choice. While the name of Stanford is flashy and was impressive, the organization has no idea how to work with or operate a community based facility. What was amazing about the organization will slowly fade away. Any of the other choices among the different organizations that focus on community organizations would have been a much better choice.
Advice to Management
Good luck. Support your staff and leadership because many of them are looking to leave.

You are now related to Stanford care.
Night shift- Exclusive, Clique, hostile environment to work in. Staff are mean and act like they are above you.
Management has known about these issues for years and admit to this yet they haven't made a dent when it comes to fixing these issues. The behavior stems partly from management.
Employees seem to skate by doing very little work. Not sure that's a good thing!
Very strict dress code, ancient, outdated HR policies, conservative views of most staff, corrupt management.
