    Pros

Great for graduate surveyors wishing to qualify for RICS in 2 years. Pay for grad was better even than the big London Firms and tonnes of training.
Biggest employer of surveyors in the country, so lots of hands on work and secure job.
Never made a single compulsory redundancy, even during recessions for its 105 year existence.

    Cons

Good practice ideas take a little longer to get implemented than private sector firms.
While all firms face changes, and the VOA benefits from lots of positive change, it is not quite so good at handling change while it is happening.

I have been working at Valuation Office Agency full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are non, and if there were the cons would far out weigh them

    Cons

you will be over worked and under paid
management will take credit for your hard work
you will be pushed to your limit and likely bullied if you dare speak up
put a foot wrong and they will hold it against you for ever more
Management are made up of people jumping form other departments and pulling their mates along with them. You have no chance of any career progression unless you are someone who can do as you are told and not think for yourself. They dont like that. Avoid as all costs this is an awful place to work

    Advice to Management

you are not very nice people, you promote bullying and harassment in the work place

    Pros

flexi - time if you are able to use this !

    Cons

Clicky teams and a lot of bullying from certain managers - who then are protected by the ''NEW'' office Senior who used to be a co- worker herself and promised to rid of bullies - laughable

    Advice to Management

Treat hard - working staff with utter respect - then they wouldn't leave

    Neutral Outlook

    Pros

    - Generally good work atmosphere (not too much bitchiness)
    - Great employee benefits; full annual leave entitlement, flexible hours and sick pay

    Cons

    - Business and digital are essentially two different organisations
    - Antiquated legacy software still in use due to lack of foresight and dependencies on fixed contracts
    - Slow to update to new and emerging services/apps, like cloud and Windows 10
    - Heavy-handed security is a blocker when it comes to adopting new productivity tools

    Advice to Management

Provide caseworkers and surveyors with decent tech that aids their work instead of inhibiting it

    Pros

Very secure job, with excellent pension. Excellent for graduate posts, earning nearly 30k straight away, and around 40k immediately when qualified with RICS or IRRV. Good flexible working hours and reasonable work-life balance.

    Cons

Occasional pressure, but that's the minimum with any job.
