I have been working at Vanco full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I've worked in various marketing and project management roles at three other organizations, and Vanco has by far been my favorite. The marketing team is an absolute GEM to work with - every single person is talented, sociable, and brings out the best in each other (not to mention extremely competent at keeping projects moving and staying together even now that we're all working remotely). I've never had a company where I've felt more connected to my coworkers (both on my teams, and even in other parts of the organization). The company culture at Vanco is fantastic - they are sincere about trying to attract people who enjoy serving their communities, and are willing to work hard and celebrate each other's successes. And Vanco's handling of work-from-home (and voluntary return-to-the-office) has been extremely transparent and well-handled. The last internal survey we sent out reported a 97% "approval" rate of how management is handling COVID (which from my experience talking with my coworkers I don't think that's exaggerated). One thing that I find satisfying (although admittedly occasionally frustrating), is the challenge of ever-changing organizational priorities. Vanco has grown as a company largely through acquisition over the last 5 years, which has brought on whole other products/teams/companies to our portfolio. This makes it an exciting company to be a part of, but also surfaces some "growing pains" and some disorganization inherent in combining teams/cultures/products. But on the plus side, that also allows for a lot of internal advancement and opportunities to tackle new responsibilities or try new roles within the company. I'm hoping to stay at Vanco a long time doing just that! Shawn Boom (our CEO), is surprisingly approachable, and sincerely passionate about the Vanco's mission to serve those who serve our communities. It's honestly really rewarding and inspiring to feel like we're part of something bigger. Work/life balance is excellent. Managers all encourage employees to take time off, and pretty much everybody ends their day at 5pm - there's no culture here that everyone should unofficially be working 10 hour work days. And I know quite a few employees who have blocks in their calendar to accommodate familiy/life schedules, like blocking off an hour to pick up their kids from school (pre-COVID), and they're encouraged to find the working hours that work for them. The benefits package is solid, lots of PTO, and we've even been granted an additional 3 full days of PTO for volunteer work in addition to our initial PTO package.

    Cons

As mentioned above, Vanco changes frequently. I see this as a plus - we are an agile company, it's helped us weather (and even thrive) COVID's effects in our market, and it keeps the job intersting/fun. But if constant change and changing goals stresses you out - this is not the company for you. For example, the comp plan for one of our sales teams has been changed three times in this year alone. There also seems to be a systemic communication gap between team managers (product managers, sales managers, etc.) and Senior Leadership. Frequently Senior Leadership expectations are largely out of touch with what is going on at the product, sales, and marketing team levels, which is stressful when we are releasing a new product or launching campaigns into a new market.

I worked at Vanco full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you are in alignment with the mission statement of the organization, you will be very happy. I was in alignment with the mission of the organization and shaped my position to be exactly what i wanted it be, but then the COVID-19 virus changed the thing I enjoyed the most, meeting personally with our clients . I truly enjoyed being the organizations principal evangelist before it's 25,000 faith based clients, a role I was allowed to shape.

    Cons

There were no specific "cons" that I personally experienced in my nearly four years at Vanco. Damn COVID-19.

I worked at Vanco full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Leadership is very open and communicative. The office has great energy driven by the employees. Business leaders are a joy to work with and are open to new ideas.

    Cons

There is plenty to do - this can be a positive for those that are driven and looking for great experience; however, this may not align as a positive for someone looking to fly under the radar.

I have been working at Vanco full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good employee health plans (but very expensive if you have dependents), stocked snacks, reasonable PTO - about standard for tech industry (20 days, but it doesn't accrue and isn't paid out if you leave), lot of potential in product space.

    Cons

Company gives a lot of air time to their focus on culture, but doesn't follow through. Developers - across teams, including on Greenfield projects - are very frustrated and feel they do not have a voice in the organization or freedom to capitalize on opportunities. Product vision continually changes without follow through. Training is difficult to access and poorly managed. Feedback is non-existent. Management has been promising that a career ladder for tech will be made public soon for a year and a half (!) with no progress. Existing staff have taken on increasing responsibility without raises or promotion, while leadership roles remain empty for *very* long stretches. Even things that seem like minor concessions (e.g. a quiet workspace) are denied. Talented coworkers who are still around from before the acquisition and mergers are mostly actively seeking outside positions with plans of leaving soon. Leadership knows their is a morale problem, asks for feedback, but then doesn't listen and moans to themselves that they can't understand why employee satisfaction ratings are so low.

    Pros

Very cozy work environment with everything you need to be successful. Amazing benefits package for employees. Relatively easy to hit your monthly bonus as long as you follow the processes and can schedule meetings/demonstrations on a consistence basis.

    Cons

If you aren't comfortable with adaptation and shifts in the selling process it may be difficult to hit your activity metrics and sales goals

    Pros

Great work/home life balance, never asked to work more than 40 hours a week

    Cons

If you're looking to make a lot of money in a sales job, this isn't it. You'll make decent money, but not a high paying position by an means.

I worked at Vanco full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The company is growing and is full of great, hard working people and has a CEO who genuinely cares about the staff and the culture.

    Cons

The company has recently (October 2018) been merged with another local company of the same size. While the cultures seem to be similar, the newly combined entity is in the process of re-stabilizing. That statement isn't a deterrent to working here - rather it is meant to give a holistic view. Being flexible and adaptable is an important attribute to possess if you are joining in these early stages.

I have been working at Vanco full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have been with Vanco for one year and 4 months. In that time I've come to know my co workers as family. I have climbed from client services representative to team lead in that short amount of time. There has been change since I've started and so far it's all been very good, growth is great for a small company and the new CEO is eager to grow and become greater. The previous reviews are not a good reflection of the current leadership and culture. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this has been the best company I've worked for. They take care of their employees, unlimited PTO, sponsored lunches, snacks, great health benefits and great 401k benefits.

    Cons

There has been some lack of communication between departments but it's been getting better
