Great place to be a nurse

      Pros

Self-scheduling, high acuity patients and speciality care, providers are great to work with. Some/most of the units are recent renovations or new: really nice! Lots of nursing opportunity to find your niche as a RN. They did a pay adjustment this year, so that really helps as Vandy used to lag on nursing pay.

      Cons

Parking: you do have to pay to park. It's annoying but everyone does it.

      Pros

Good place to learn and get direct patient care experience especially if you're pursuing nursing as a a career. Can't advance or get a promotion unless you have RN or another advanved degree. More/less autonomy depending on the unit you work in. Okay benefits package

      Cons

Lowest paying hospital in Nashville area, employees pay for parking, some nurses pass off extra work to care partners that they don't want to do, little to no raise each year, almost always understaffed no matter where you work
