Not sure what is asked for here.

    Pros

As it is a large employer, there are lots of position you can move to. However, it is really hard to move up in your own department.

    Cons

Rarely do they give raises that are more than just cost of living. If you are considering going to work there negotiate for a larger salary on the front end.

    They will lie to you

Apr 3, 2014 - LAN Technician in Nashville, TN

    Pros

You get to pay to park! Your other choice is to walk about 2 miles to your car or park nearby and have your car booted! So you can work for below market salary! But the education benefit is so good...if you don't get 'laid off' before you get to use it!

    Cons

Poor leadership; some supervisors actually PROMOTE problem employees to get them out of their area (Linda, I'm looking at you!). They will lie to you and twist words so you will stay with no salary increases for YEARS! (Hang in there; we are a family; hard times will pass! We will take care of you!) Then they bring in the axe man and you are gone....but hang in there! There will be jobs for you! The best part of it all is that they didn't include HR in at least some of the layoffs. Ridiculous!

My nursing and physician colleges have been very respectful.

    Pros

My nursing and physician colleges have been very respectful. There is a good culture here, and plenty of opportunities for continuing education, as well as career growth.

    Cons

Salary is not as competitive as the surrounding hospitals and the process to petition for a $2.- is so absurd and exhaustive that it serves as a major barrier to otherwise deserving employees ( you need to submit a full application packet to a peer-review committee to prove that you have earned your $2.00) .

Great place to work but only if you're a new nurse.

Feb 21, 2010 - Registered Nurse in Nashville, TN

    Pros

    Great reputation in the community.

    Cons

They do not spend money on existing units, they only build more so as to make more money. If you're an older nurse, watch out. You make too much salary and they are looking for reasons to get rid of you. They lost $300 million in endowments due to the economy and they are looking for experienced nurses to get rid of.

    So-So

Jan 19, 2016 - IT Project Manager in Nashville, TN

    Pros

They give a good amount of PTO at the beginning of each fiscal year. You cannot roll any over, but I believe they provide plenty for me to take a few vacations and time off for kids breaks. School reimbursement is a great perk as well, however I am grandfathered in for the better percentage rate. It has decreased for folks new to the company.

    Cons

Pay is severely under the norm. Even if you advance to a higher position you will only get pennies from HR for the salary quote. Only way to increase a significant amount is to leave and come back. That does not make business sense at all. This is the main reason after 9 years that I am looking for my next career growth opportunity outside of this organization.
