I have been working at Vanderbilt University part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

great students and supervisors. The supervisors really cater to your schedule, and are very understanding as well as supportive in tough situations.

    Cons

There are definitely no cons to think of. Something that may be a con is that the hours get less and less throughout the semester once the students get independent, but that is the entire point of the job.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. You are rocking it, and this is a wonderful opportunity for an amazing mission.

I worked at Vanderbilt University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits and pay were fair. There are often rewards and incentives for a job well done.

    Cons

The standards for employees are very high, and when not met, there are heavy consequences. Never felt important in the grand scheme of things and when I tried to move up after several years there, all I could get was a latteral move. Lunch breaks were only 30 minutes long, and you had to make sure to clock in at the correct time on the dot, every day, otherwise you could get written up.

    Advice to Management

Try to think of employees more as individuals who need work/life balance.
