Vanderbilt has incredible resources (BRET office) to help train you not only for an academic job, but for any job post PhD.

The maternity and paternity leave policies are poor. They claim to build graduate student housing, but then require income levels higher than they give you.

Mar 12, 2023 - Part time data analyst student in Nashville, TNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros

Cons

- Current Employee, more than 5 years★★★★★
Pros
Brilliant colleagues and beautiful campus.
Cons
Held at yearly contracts. No job security or commitment.
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
There are great colleagues and students to work with.
Cons
The School of Medicine is an extremely toxic work environment. Management goes out of the way to let employees know they are dispensable, the turn over is high (employees quitting one month in), pay is low. Employees ask to have meetings with HR and have their manager pop on the meeting without notice. The leadership and management is the problem. Managers blame their teams instead of taking accountability. The leaders “delegate” all of their work so that they are not held personally responsible. Leaders also refuse to send emails because they do not want paper trails of their mistakes and poor management.
