Sep 3, 2014 - Research Assistant I in Nashville, TNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Friendly staff, fantastic research opportunities, good opportunity to network and succeed.
Cons
Interdepartmental research is difficult. Work life balance is always going to skewed in favor of work but I think coming to a university that is expected. Perks are that you get a chance to conduct and participate in research that is state-of-the-art and a chance to collaborate with some of the leading industries.

Vanderbilt is a wonderful and caring place to work.
Jun 8, 2011 - Program Coordinator in Nashville, TNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
My supervisor gives me the autonomy that I need to do a good job. I never feel like someone is looking over my shoulder. I have the support to make changes and try new ideas out to benefit my clients and co-workers. VU is very supportive of the work/life balance and encourages good health.
Cons
The university side has very limited holidays compared to other universities. However, the vacation accural is good and so makes up for it.
