I have been working at Vanderlande Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I love working in VI. Every day is a challenge and a learning opportunity, you never get bored! Great benefits and working flexibility. Is a very diverse company, you get to work with people from all over the world.

    Cons

Need processes in place and better structure asap. You act on a case by case basis. Workload is very heavy and it can be hard to focus.

    Advice to Management

Implement processes and hire more people where needed. Kudos for the learning opportunities, internal promotions and for continously looking for more and better benefits!

I worked at Vanderlande Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You don't realize just how bad it is at VI, until you leave, there is light at the end of the tunnel!

    Cons

Worst career move I ever made, no structure or processes, there is no future with VI. Just look at these reviews, don't you get a clue!

    Advice to Management

People come first, invest in your staff and they will take care of the company.

    Pros

Great expanding company to work for. Leader in the industry. World wide operations.

    Cons

None thus far. The pay is about right, benefits are much better than average. And they value personal family needs.

I have been working at Vanderlande Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Business is booming therefore good job security
    - Really smart coworkers
    - Opportunity to work with multi-billion dollar customers
    - Managers are very friendly and easy to talk to
    - Hard work is rewarded. If you show potential and consistent results, you will definitely grow quickly
    - Excellent benifits

    Cons

I see a lot of negative reviews about this company on here and honestly I have no idea why. Usually people who leave bad reviews were the ones that didn't perform well and were let go...so there were a little hurt ;) (as is the case with most people that are fired). I would say one of the cons would be that the management in a little risk averse and play it safe. which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending how you looks at it.

    Advice to Management

    - Most of the things you do are good. Keep it up!
    - Maybe try to take a little more risk with some projects. You may be surprised what the employees can achieve.

    Pros

Great product and projects, fascinating environment, Dutch company values > American traditional corporation

    Cons

Long hours, heavy travel, and still some American traditional outdated policies, vacation time, etc

    Advice to Management

Follow every study ever performed on work hours, vacation time, and do what they do in your HQ

I have been working at Vanderlande Industries full-time

    Pros

    Insurance is good, nice office

    Cons

None of the managers are being held accountable, they are driving away good people! HR is a joke and so is safe base policy. Too many mangers in several depts that rule by intimidation... (SC)

    Advice to Management

Take a look at who you are calling managers, they are not who they pretend to be, lots of BS going around and back stabbing here. People don't leave companies they leave managers! Take control here and clean house, this company is crumbling -

    Pros

There is a lot of opportunity here for people willing to rise to the challenge. The company is growing fast and there is room for you to put your stamp on things. Overall, there are lots of great people to work with and the project work is interesting.

    Cons

There is too much emphasis on the Dutch way of working. Cumbersome processes slow down progress. Not enough Americans in charge.

    Advice to Management

    Give the US more autonomy

I worked at Vanderlande Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Excellent health care benefits for corporate personal.
    - Great product
    - Good work/life balance

    Cons

The Culture; you are encouraged to speak your mind, but when you go against the grain, you are ostracized. If you just want to give the bare minimum this is the place for you. Folks are not held accountable, and are often promoted or moved to a new job (which are created for them), rather that termination.

Customers are treated as number rather than a partner. Customers are misinformed as to why individuals leave the organization, rather than addressing the root cause of mass exodus.

Ex-Pats put in key roles, who have no clue what they are doing, to appease management.

Culture & Core values are used against individuals when they want to address the efficiencies or question why others are allowed to not do their jobs.

Sr. Management talks a great game of team play and support, but fails to follow thru to promote own self interests.

    Advice to Management

Understand why key players are leaving. Encourage accountability and weed out efficiencies.

    Pros

Innovator in technology and market solutions

    Cons

Does not honor commitments to employees in the form of promised compensation (specifically bonuses). Management consistently finds a way to change the game so that not paying bonuses can be justified.

    Advice to Management

    Pay your employees.
Do you ever wonder why all your best people are leaving?
