    Outdated IT and LMS Training

    Pros

Super helpful and friendly main office staff, including their in-house travel department. A decent per diem.

    Cons

A good portion of the in person trainers seemed to be quite bitter and jaded, and should have moved on years ago. The Learning Management System (Cornerstone) had 51 modules within it, about half were highly suggested to complete, most of those were outdated or needed to be removed from training. On a few training subjects, instructors either contradicted each other in information, or left out important necessary information. The actual mock physical site training was eliminated from their training program, making the actual training on the Android tablet more difficult to learn. I was informed while working in the field (with a full day planned out), that I'd need to return to their "base camp" that same day to have my work checked IN PERSON before submitting it. Unfortunately, that would made for an addition four (4) hours of travel time round trip. When I mentioned a ZOOM meeting or Microsoft's Quick Assist to have the work looked at remotely, I was told that that was not an option.

    Pros

You work independently. You have the opportunity to provide assistance to the victims of the disaster. You can earn a lot of money in a short time. Most of the expenses are reimbursed. If you are customer service oriented you can make this work a lifestyle.

    Cons

Not a full time job. Only get to be deployed when a Presidential declaration occurs (for Individual Assistance). No benefits.
